Belleville police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed outside a bar in downtown Belleville late last (Sunday) night.
A young man was stabbed several times on Front Street at around 10:30 and was taken to Belleville General Hospital and then transferred to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect had left the scene prior to police arriving. The suspect was last seen near the Moira River. He is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years of age and wearing bright coloured shorts, a bright shirt and a ball cap. He was carrying a backpack.

The Forensic Identification Unit and Major Crimes Unit are involved in the investigation.
Meanwhile, while police were on the scene of the stabbing, a drunk man got involved and wouldn’t leave the area. He was placed under arrest and held in a cell to sober up.
