For the 8th time, the Trenton Tigers are the Ontario High School Girls “AA” Rugby champions. The top ranked Tigers defeated number 2 Holy Cross of Peterborough 22-15 in the gold medal game. Trenton was 4-0 at the OFSAA tournament in Clarington while outscoring their opponents 163-25. This is the 13th consecutive year a Bay of Quinte High School has won it.
The Napanee District Golden Hawks didn’t leave empty handed either. They knocked off Notre Dame of Burlington 21-5 to take home the Consolation championship.
With rugby finished attention turns to other OFSAA championships beginning today.
The 3 day Track and Field finals begin in Guelph.
The Bayside Red Devils are in Sarnia for the Boys “AAA” Soccer championships.
The “A” division Soccer tournament is in Ancaster outside of Hamilton. The Quinte Christian Eagles vie for the girls title while the Nicholson Crusaders play on the boys side.
