Quinte West council could decide to try for some financial help for a major upgrade to a boat launch along the Trent River.
A new fund from FedDev Ontario has money available for projects that promote tourism.
Quinte West staff is suggesting upgrades to the Ontario Street boat launch would be a project that would meet the fund’s criteria.
If council approves, the city would apply for $400,000, about half of the cost of the project, estimated at $800,000.
And Quinte West council will hear three delegations at its regular meeting tonight.
First will be a representative from the Ministry of Transportation updating council on the design stages for widening and structural work on Highway 401 around Belleville.
Then Quinte West resident Alex McNaught will describe a plan to build an Ancestral Circle of Stones in the Old Sidney Town Hall Park in Wallbridge.
And finally resident Fred Keating will ask council to support a proposal to remove beams from the Glen Ross swing bridge.
Quinte West council meets at 6:30 tonight at city hall.
