Another doctor is coming to the region.
The Quinte West Physician Recruitment and Retention Program announced today (Monday) they have signed their second doctor, Dr. Matthew Steffler, to a Medical Services Agreement.
Dr. Steffler and his wife Angie, who is also a doctor, have both found employment opportunities here in the region.
Dr. Steffler comes to the area from Strathroy, Ontario and graduated from the University of Western Ontario Medical School and Family Medicine Residency program.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says the Physician Recruitment Coordinator and committee have worked very hard in the last 18 months to make up for lost time and the city is very proud to see everything coming together and they are delighted to welcome Dr. Steffler and his wife to Quinte West.
He is expected to begin practicing in mid-July at the Chamomile Health Centre on North Murray Street in Trenton.
In his spare time, Dr. Steffler enjoys all kinds of sports and spending quality time with family and friends.
He says he is passionate about family medicine and looks forward to settling into the community to both work and live.
