A clerk at a store on North Front Street in Belleville was assaulted by a man yesterday (Saturday).
A man had been removed from the store for an alleged theft and the assault occurred outside.
A motor vehicle was also damaged in the altercation. Belleville police are asking the public for information
on the incident.
Meanwhile, a police investigation of a north end Belleville store’s video record regarding a theft three days ago led an employee
to recognize another person wanted for theft in August of last year.
Police then arrested 25-year-old Christopher Gray of Belleville and charged him with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.
