Shoplifting
On June 1 at 9:55 a.m., police attended to a north end shopping location for a report of a female shoplifter. After conducting an investigation, 34-year-old Amy Gibson was arrested and charged with theft-under $5,000. The involved merchandise was recovered. She was released on an appearance notice to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice later this month.
Break, enter and theft
On June 1 at 2:06 p.m., police were called to an investigation of a break-in to a garage in the east end of the city. An investigation revealed a long black and yellow long board with orange wheels had been stolen. A bicycle was also stolen, but was recovered nearby a short time later. The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this to contact investigating officer Cst. Mischief
On June 1, police attended to a family dispute in the north end of the city. An investigation revealed a scuffle occurred between a mother and a daughter. An object was thrown through a door in the home, causing damage. A 15-year-old female was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000. She was released from custody on an officer-in-charge undertaking with conditions and a promise-to-appear in the Youth Criminal Justice Court at a later date. The female cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
