Day 1 of the East Regional Track and Field Championships which are being held in Belleville, produced 7 podium finishes among local high school athletes.
Jake Hollinger of East Northumberland Secondary finished first in the Senior Boys 1500 metre race.
Autumn Fanjoy of ENSS won gold in the Junior Womens 300 metre hurdles while Jesse Brummer from Napanee District was first in the Junior Womens Triple Jump.
Placing second in their respective events were Marielle Kelly from Nicholson in the Senior Womens High Jump, Halle Woodcock of ENSS in the Midget Womens 300 metre Hurdles and Isaac Hollinger of ENSS in the Boys 1500.
Josh Warner of East Northumberland was third in the Midget 300 metre Hurdles.
Events continue all day today (Fri) at the Bruce Faulds Track at Mary Ann Sills Park and are open to the public.
This is the last qualifying event before the Ontario Championships in Guelph next week and includes all high schools in Eastern Ontario.
