On May 28, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., officers with the Lennox and Addington Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the corner of Thomas Street and John Street in the Town of Napanee.
The driver of the vehicle was turning left onto John from Thomas and failed to stop at the stop sign striking a cyclist on the roadway knocking him to the ground. The driver then backed his vehicle into a utility post breaking his passenger side tail light. The driver got out to ask if the cyclist was injured then drove off prior to police arrival. The cyclist suffered minor injuries.
The vehicle is described as an older model black or dark blue sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota. The vehicle will have a broken passenger side tail light. The male driver was described as a male in his 20s with a tall thin build.
