The mayor of the City of Belleville is looking at making recommendations for city committees in the future.
Thursday morning on the Lorne Brooker Show, Mayor Mitch Panciuk discussed a change he wants to implement.
He says he will be recommending who should be the chair of each committee.
Panciuk says the effectiveness of committees is a reflection on city council.
He says since committees are a reflection of council, he wants to have a say in who runs them.
According to Panciuk, many other municipalities have the mayor name committee chairs.
At present, council as a whole approves each committee chair in Belleville.
