Earlier this week Quinte News reported the results of the Opening Field Day at the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club. However the biggest story of the day had nothing to do with the winners Aaron Kenny, Steve Carr and Catherine West.
Instead it was 95 year old Betty Ingram Wonnacott teeing it up in her 68th Opening Field Day. Her first was in 1951. Adding to the story is that Ingram-Wonnacott recently had elective hip surgery.
Betty is a charter member of the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame after being elected in 1987. She holds 30 Ladies Club championships at Bay of Quinte as well as an Ontario Senior Amateur championship and runner-up at the Canadian Senior Ladies Championship. Ingram-Wonnacott has represented Ontario at numerous national and international tournaments.
