Continued high water levels on Lake Ontario are causing real headaches for operators and users of the Glenora Ferry.
The Ministry of Transportation says until conditions improve they will not be able to offer two ferry services and that the Quinte Loyalist will continue to run on a 30 minute schedule with an 18,000 tonne limit.
The high water levels, combined with unpredictable wind and wave conditions, could also affect the speed of service and could lead to disruptions of service on short notice.
If you’re planning to use the Glenora Ferry, you’re advised to follow them on Twitter @MTOFerryGlenora, or keep an eye on electronic road signs near the pier, for schedule changes and service updates.
