Both deals are now closed.
Two properties on Station Street in Belleville, the former Trudeau Motors property, have been sold to a Toronto area developer.
Realtor Jamie Troke says a 14o-unit retirement residence will be housed at 57 Station Street, which was the used car lot portion of the Trudeau property. Demolition has taken place on that property and it has been cleared for the developer.
Meantime, 45 Station Street, which was the new car site, has been fenced off to prepare for demolition. Troke says the same buyer is looking at putting an apartment complex on that property.
Dafoe Street runs through the two properties, and there is a proposal to eliminate the road for development. There is a house at the end of the street on Great St James Street, but it is believed developers can work around that.
