More than 80 students and staff took part in the 60th edition of the Ken and Cleo Colling Memorial Road Race. The 3.1 kilometre loop around the Stanley Park subdivision was hosted by Eastside Secondary School.
Winning the boys’ division was Mathew Birchard in 11:01. Kylie Crawford was the first girl across the finish line in 15:23. And Mick Saunders was top staff person with a time of 15:05.
The race is named after Ken Colling who was the Sports Editor of the Belleville Intelligencer until 1947. The event was created by students of BCIVS following Colling’s death.
