According to a published report, the man charged with first degree murder in the death of a Trent Hills man on May 6 has died while in jail.
A report in Today’s Northumberland says the suspect, 62-year-old Stephen Murray Kelly of Peterborough County, was found in medical distress in the Central East Corrections Centre in Lindsay several days ago.
He was rushed to hospital but died there.
Authorities have not yet located the body of the victim, 61-year-old Blythe Sexsmith. OPP allege he had been seriously assaulted at a residence not far south of Havelock.
