As they have done so often, the East Northumberland Blue Dragons have led the way at the Central Ontario High School Track and Field championships.
Sam Hall of ENSS was first in the senior men’s 100, 200 and High Jump.
Jake Hollinger won gold in the 1500 and 3000 metres.
Other Blue Dragons to win their senior events were Jacob Gilbert, Kya Bailey, Kieren Lewis, Austen Schmoll and the 4 X 400 men’s Relay team.
Frank Vreugdenhil from Quinte Christian finished first in Shot Put and Discus.
Also winning gold were Blake Douglas of Centennial Secondary School in the Senior Men’s 400 metre Hurdles. Bruce Reynolds of Prince Edward Collegiate in the Pole Vault and Ross McGarvey from Nicholson in the 2000 metre Steeplechase.
This is the second leg of four leading to the Ontario Championships at the University of Guelph next month. Next is the East Regional Track and Field championships May 30 and 31 which will also be in Belleville at the Bruce Faulds Track and Mary Ann Sills Park.
