Volunteer and Information Quinte has been granted more than $13,500 through the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program.
Bay of Quinte MP Neil Ellis made that announcement today.
The money will be used for VIQ’s Seniors Building Stronger Communities initiative, which teaches intergenerational skills to promote volunteerism among the senior community.
Meanwhile, three organizations have received some money through Community Futures Prince Edward Lennox and Addington and FedDev Ontario.
MP Mike Bossio announced a total of $20,000 yesterday to The County of Lennox and Addington, Calderwood Automation and The Health Hut in Enterprise.
L & A County is getting $9,000 to recruit a tech coach and provide services to small business owners.
Calderwood will be able to bolster its mandate of creating intelligent, data-enabled building automation services with $6,000 and The Helath Hut’s Thomasina Larkin was awarded $5,000 to expand her massage and other therapy services.
