The Cobourg Police Service officers, Criminal Investigations Bureau, and Forensics Investigation Officer, were involved in a drug investigation in the downtown core on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
Two men from Durham Region were arrested and found to be in possession of a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine.
Further to the investigation, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed and another arrest was made for possession for the purpose of Methamphetamine.
41-year-old Cobourg resident, Jeffrey O’Neill was charged with the following offences:
1. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
2. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
3. Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
4. Failure to Comply with Probation Order
29-year-old Malcolm Stephenson of Tyrone was charged with the following offences:
1. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
2. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
3. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
4. Drive Motor Vehicle, no currently validated permit
5. Use validation not furnished for Motor Vehicle
6. Operation while Prohibited
28-year-old Lance McArthur of Ajax was charged with the following offences:
1. Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
All three parties are being held pending a court date later today.
