The Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service between May 18, 2019 at 5 a.m. and May 19, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On May 18, 2019 at 7:40 p.m, police responded to Cannifton Road regarding a domestic in progress. On arrival, police learned through investigation that a 30-year-old Belleville man had committed an assault on his girlfriend. As a result, he was arrested and charged with domestic assault and released with a court date in June to face the charges.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On May 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Pinnacle Street where minor injuries were reported. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene and after a police investigation, a 23-year-old male driver was charged with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
On May 18, 2019 at 4:30 a.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on North Front Street. Minor injuries were reported and the 41-year-old male driver was charged with Careless Driving.
On May 18, 2019 at 11:06 a.m., police responded to Yeomans Street regarding a two-vehicle collision where minor injuries were reported. As a result of an Investigation, a 63-year-old female driver was charged with Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign under the Highway Traffic Act.
On May 18 2019 at 11 a.m., police responded to North Front Street regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported, and at the conclusion of the investigation, a male driver was charged with Turn Not In Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
Belleville Police remind the public to refrain from leaving animals unattended and locked in vehicles as the weather is getting dangerously warm to be leaving animals locked in vehicles without water and sufficient air flow.
