Belleville council is expected to take the first step toward preparing for a much busier commercial corridor in the city’s north end.
At its meeting today (Monday), council will see a staff report recommending BT Engineering to prepare a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to guide the best ways to widen Bell Boulevard to four lanes from two between Sidney Street and Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
The assessment would cost $292,000 plus HST.
New development, including a massive project involving Costco, will be coming to Bell Boulevard soon and vehicle traffic is expected to increase dramatically.
