Officials from the City of Quinte West met Friday morning to discuss the recently issued flood warning by Quinte Conservation.
Water levels on Lake Ontario and Bay of Quinte shorelines are expected to rise rapidly this weekend and moving forward, with more heavy rain in the forecast and increased inflows from Lake Erie.
Residents living in flood-prone areas are being advised to protect their properties with sandbags available at 177 North Murray Street in Trenton and 96 Wolfe Street in Frankford, but you’ll need to bring your own shovel.
Business owners experiencing flooding or high water levels are being advised to contact City Hall during business hours, or the Quinte West Fire Department after hours and on weekends.
