Construction will soon begin at Belleville’s Parkdale Veterans Park to build a Field of Ability, a special accessible rubberized baseball diamond for kids with disabilities.
At its meeting Monday, council will be asked to sign off on a design-and-build contract with Belleville construction company Taskforce Engineering.
The company has already provided some design and engineering work for the Field of Ability free of charge. Over $700,000 has been raised through donations, big and small.
The contract would allow for a maximum of one million dollars for completion of the project.
