The Bayside Red Devils scored a double-header sweep of the East Northumberland Blue Dragons in Bay of Quinte girls high school soccer.
In the senior game Andrea Sorokine scored the hat trick as Bayside blanked E.N.S.S. 4-0. Kylee Ferguson records the clean sheet.
In the other senior game Morgan Hawley scored the lone goal as the Centennial Chargers got past the Nicholson Crusaders 1-nil.
In junior girls’ soccer the Red Devils beat the Blue Dragons 5-3. Kaydyn Kovacic scored 3 for Bayside while Ally Osmond notched both goals for East Northumberland.
In boys’ high school senior rugby Bayside downed St. Theresa 17-12 while the Eastside Secondary Ravens beat the Trenton Tigers 22-19. No details were available.
The St. Theresa Titans began defense of their Bay of Quinte baseball championship with a pair of victories. The Titans scored a 13-3 decision over Nicholson on strong pitching performances from Nolan Dutton and Nolan Abrams.
In their second game Travis Pascoe homered in St. Theresa’s 10-0 victory over the Centre Hastings Centurions.
Patfield gets first “ace”
Murray Hills Golf Course reports the first hole-in-one in the area. Zach Patfield started off the new season with an ace from the blue tees on the 118 yard 8th hole.
