It was a great weekend for the three Under 16 Belleville Spirits girls’ basketball teams.
The Spirits’ top team coached by Tom Callahan defeated Brantford 54-44 to win the Provincial Championship at the Pan Am Sports Centre. Belleville was 5-0.
The team coached by Rob White competed at the Ontario Cup winning their Division 6 title with a 44-36 victory over Brockville.
And the Spirits U-16 team coached by Gord DeVries lost 46-40 to Pelham in the bronze medal game at the Ontario Cup.
