Local police forces are banding together to help educate area students about the dangers of human trafficking.
Students at St. Theresa Secondary School heard a presentation from representatives from Belleville Police, Ottawa Police, OPP and Christine Pratt of “Voice Found”, to learn how to recognize the warning signs of human trafficking and to spot vulnerable youth who may be in trouble.
If you know someone, or suspect someone might be involved in human trafficking, you should report it to authorities or one of a number of local support agencies.
Representatives from victim services and Three Oaks were on hand as well.
