A 35-year-old Belleville man is facing multiple charges after a stolen vehicle was located on Thursday night.
Kingston Police say they located a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day from the west end of the city.
Just before 9 p.m., officers saw a man leave a west end home and get into the stolen vehicle.
Officers approached the vehicle and placed the man under arrest before searching the vehicle.
Police located a collapsible baton, a credit card with a woman’s name on it, a plastic case with suspected crystal methamphetamine, a baggie with suspected cocaine, and keys matching the stolen car.
Police were able to contact the owners of the residence that the accused had entered and discovered that he was not known to them and never had permission to enter their home.
The man was held for a bail hearing today (Friday) where he faced charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts possession, possession of a dangerous weapon, two counts of operation of conveyance while prohibited, three counts of breach of probation and two counts of breach of probation.
