Belleville Senators defenceman Christian Wolanin will join Team U.S.A. for the upcoming World Hockey Championships in Slovakia.
The 24 year old Wolanin split the season between the B-Sens and the parent Ottawa Senators. He played 40 games with Belleville scoring 7 goals and 24 assists. In Ottawa he played 30 games scoring 4 times with 8 assists.
Although born in Quebec City while his father Craig Wolanin played for the Nordiques, Christian now lives in Detroit.
B-Sens left winger Rudolfs Balcers will join Latvia.
Former Belleville Senators defenceman Thomas Chabot will play for Team Canada.
