The Belleville Police Service responded to 85 calls for service between April 30, 2019 at 5 a.m. and May 1, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Motor vehicle collision
On April 30, 2019, at approximately 6 p.m., police were called to an area near Highway 37 and Phillipston Road regarding a motor vehicle collision. One driver swerved over the dividing line colliding with an oncoming vehicle. No one was hurt and the driver responsible for the collision was charged under The Highway Traffic Act.
Liquor Licence Act
On May 1, 2019 at approximately 1:04 a.m., police attended Front Street and Victoria Avenue regarding a male causing a disturbance. Officers quickly ascertained that the male had consumed a large amount of alcohol and was arrested for his own safety. A 40-year-old Belleville man was charged for being intoxicated in a public place and later released with a provincial offence notice.
