Fire officials are continuing to investigate a fire that caused extensive damage to a Napanee business on Monday afternoon.
Napanee Deputy Fire Chief Bill Hammond says the fire caused extensive heat and smoke damage to the interior of the building and damage is estimated at under $500,000.
He says firefighters at the hall noticed smoke coming from the building around 3:50 p.m. and went to investigate and discovered a fire in the exterior of the building.
A full response call went out and 18 firefighters and four trucks responded to the scene.
Deputy Chief Hammond says crews were able to knock the fire down quickly and were on scene until 7:45 p.m. checking for hot spots.
He says many of the records and hard drives in the office were saved and employees of Exit Realty are set up at another work site today.
No cause has yet been determined.
