Belleville’s Kenzo Dozono has earned one of the highest karate honours in the world, and he never saw it coming.
Dozono has been promoted to 9th degree black belt by the Shotokan Karate International Federation.
The 74-year-old Dozono had no warning that representatives of SKIF Karate Canada would be in Belleville Sunday to administer the test.
The examination was held in front of students of Dozono’s S.K.I. Belleville Karate School
Kenzo Dozono was inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame in 1994.
