It was the armed robbery that wasn’t.
Belleville police were called to an alleged robbery scene in the city’s west end at 9:30 last night (Tuesday).
A man said another man jumped out of a vehicle and pointed a gun at him and demanded cash. Apparently another man and a woman
wearing hoodies were involved in the incident as well.
The victim said he handed over his money.
Police stopped a vehicle a short while later and identified suspects, however at this point the victim wouldn’t cooperate with police.
Those under suspicion were released unconditionally. No one was injured.
The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this to contact investigating officer Constable Chad Stein #191 at (613) 966-0882 ext. 4191 or by e-mail at cstein@police.belleville.on.ca or by calling Quinte Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
