BELOW IS A PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY FAULKNER SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Belleville Teens perform at Carnegie Hall, NYC.
Who – Belleville teens – Graham Doyle, age 18 and Natalie O’Neill, age 14
Graham and Natalie are vocal students at The Michael Faulkner School of Music in Belleville Ontario.
Why – Through their vocal teacher, Michael Faulkner, both students were entered into the Elite International Music Competition. Auditions were held worldwide and in person auditions were held in Toronto and Vancouver. Graham and Nathalie entered the competition with online submissions through their music teacher, Michael Faulkner.
First and second place contestants were invited to perform at the famed Carnegie Hall in NYC. Third place contestants performed at a recital hall in New Jersey.
What – Natalie performed the American Folksong “Desperado” arranged by Mark Mrozinski and Graham sang the Classical Sacred Song “The Old Shepherd’s Prayer” by Canadian Composer William Henry Anderson.
Graham and Natalie were the only vocalists among an extremely talented group of performers playing everything from piano to cello, to oboe and violin.
Other performers that evening came from Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Poland, Ukraine, China and the USA, with Graham and Natalie representing Canada.
Following their performances at Carnegie Hall, students were presented with trophies, a certificate of achievement, an adjudication of their winning performance, and a cash prize!
When – Sunday, April 7 the students sang at Carnegie Hall accompanied on piano by Michael Faulkner.
