On April 16, 2019 around 9:30 p.m., Prince Edward OPP responded to a break and enter at a cottage on Bass Lane in Hallowell. On arrival, police arrested two males who were located in the cottage.
Prince Edward County residents Jake Stevens, a 32-year-old male, and Kyle Campbell, a 27-year-old male were charged with break and enter with the intent to commit an indictable offence. On further investigation, both males were also charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance – opioid.
Campbell was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on May 22, 2019, while Stevens was held for bail and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville to answer to the charges.
