UPDATE @ 5:50 p.m.: Quinte Conservation has followed suit and issued a flood watch for its watershed as well. The same warnings are in place along waterways under the QC umbrella, with the potential for higher than normal water levels and flows, due to the rain the area is expected to receive this weekend.

Another dumping of rain on the Quinte region has prompted the Lower Trent Conservation Authority to issue a Flood Outlook Statement.
The Conservation Authority says stream flows and levels across the Lower Trent watershed region are generally in the normal range but upwards of 50mm of rain is forecasted for this weekend.
Flows and water levels are expected to increase over the weekend with the local rain and snow melt inputs from the north Trent River watershed.
Staff say while the potential dangers presented by rivers, small streams and open ditches never cease to exist, they are of particular concern at this time of year. Water currents are strong and temperatures dangerously cold.
Parks Canada – Ontario Waterways (Trent Severn Waterway) will be making adjustments at water control structures to accommodate the runoff from the rain and snowmelt occurring in the northern region of the Trent River watershed.
The Flood Outlook Statement will be in effect until Tuesday, April 23.
