The Belleville Police Service responded to 37 calls for service between April 14, 2019 at 5 a.m. and April 15, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On April 14, 2019, at approximately 9 a.m., Belleville Police officers were called to an area near Bridge St. West for a report of a domestic dispute. A short investigation into the matter revealed that the female party had assaulted her boyfriend. A 25-year-old, Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was later released on a promise to appear and an OIC undertaking. She was given a first appearance date of April 29, 2019.
Bail Violations
On April 15, 2019, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police attended an east end location for a report of a disturbance in an apartment. Officers observed a male in the residence who was on conditions not to be there or communicate with the female resident as a result of charges from a previous domestic related event. The male was arrested and charged for breach of an OIC undertaking (two counts). A 40-year-old Belleville man was held for a show cause hearing on April 15, 2019.
