Lower Trent Conservation is warning about the potential for nuisance flooding, with heavy rain forecast for parts of its watershed this weekend.
A significant weather system could bring 40 to 40 millimeters of rain and that could lead to increased water levels and flows on rivers lakes and streams, leading to a Flood Outlook Statement.
That rainfall, combined with continued snow and ice melt in some areas, can also make conditions unpredictable and dangerous.
LTC is again warning parents and caregivers to keep kids and pets away from waterways at this time of year, with the warning going out to everyone to avoid dams, culverts and other water control structures.
The flood outlook statement will be in effect until Monday.
