Fingers are crossed for some good news for the group working to make the “Field of Ability” a reality in Belleville.
The Field of Ability project is on a short list of finalists for a $150,000 grant from The Blue Jays Foundation.
The projects that will receive money will be announced this Sunday afternoon at 12:30 on Sportsnet ONE’s Blue Jays Central pre-game show.
It’s estimated that it will cost around $800,000 to build a barrier-free fully accessible ball diamond and fundraisers have so far raised over $500,000.
The field will be built this year at Parkdale Veterans Park.
Locally, the public is invited to watch the announcement Sunday afternoon at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
