Staff in Quinte West are working on a report about potentially putting photo radar up near schools and in community safety zones.
Councillor Al DeWitt brought up the idea at a recent public works meeting and tells Quinte News he’s heard from residents that aggressive and dangerous driving is a big problem in neighbourhoods across the city.
He adds that the cameras aren’t just for catching people speeding.
The report will look at potential locations for the cameras, along with the estimated costs to install and operate them and will be brought back to the public works committee once it is complete, though there is no direct timeline for that.
