A fire destroyed a home in Port Hope Saturday night.
Around 8:30 p.m., crews were called to Forest Crescent at County Road 10, near Garden Hill.
Today’s Northumberland says a neighbour heard an explosion, and when he came outside, a tree had fallen on the home, with part of the chimney destroyed.
From then on flames and smoke were billowing out the windows.
There is no word on the cause, but the house was destroyed.
A woman in the home was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
