There’s good news for kids in Prince Edward County who hoped to learn the noble art of sailing this summer.
The Prince Edward Yacht Club was going to end their summer junior sailing instruction program due to a lack of leadership.
However that’s not going to happen as former mayor of Prince Edward County Robert Quaiff, an accomplished sailor for almost 20 years, has taken over the program.
Quaiff says it’s full steam ahead for junior sailors at the yacht club this July and August. There’s a fleet of 14 smaller boats for instruction purposes and he plans on applying for funding to purchase some more.
