Lennox and Addington County Council has set its budget for this year. It totals 80.9 million dollars.
The County’s portion of property taxes will increase 2.5% in the new budget or about $18 a year on the average home assessed at close to $250,000.
The budget includes an extra $529,000 to be spent strictly on road and bridge work.
Major capital projects include rehabilitation and paving of portions of County Roads 2 and 41 and phase 3 of the reconstruction of Dundas Street in Napanee.
A new ambulance base in Stone Mills is coming as well at a cost of 1.5 million dollars.
