Both local conservation authorities are putting watershed warnings and flood outlook statements in effect.
Lower Trent and Quinte Conservation have both issued warnings for their coverage areas, with temperatures continuing to climb in the coming days, causing snow to melt and water levels to rise.
Our area could get up to 30 mm of rain tomorrow, which could have an impact on water levels as well.
Members of the public are reminded to stay off any ice as it’s unsafe this time of year and to take precautions around lakes, rivers and streams, with banks becoming increasingly slippery and river flows picking up speed.
Staff from both Quinte Conservation and Lower Trent Conservation will continue to monitor the conditions and provide an update when things change.
