Quick work by Prince Edward County fire crews helped to save the majority of an east end home in Wellington Tuesday night.
Around 8:15 pm, crews responded to the older home on Loyalist Parkway, where smoke and flame was visible coming from a second storey bedroom window.
Deputy Chief Robert Rutter tells Quinte News they were able to knock down the flames, limiting the damage to about $100,000.
Rutter adds it was a $400,000 save.
About 30 members were on the scene, no injuries were reported.
The investigation into the cause continues.
