Hastings – Lennox and Addington is getting a sizeable funding boost to help improve transit.
MPP Daryl Kramp announced today (Wednesday) over $2.9 million has been allocated to communities in the riding as part of the ten year program.
The infrastructure program is cost shared between federal, provincial and municipal governments and is spread across four streams, including public transit.
Of the $30 billion set aside for this program, Ontario will see $10.2 billion.
Kramp says the public transit stream will build and improve urban and rural transit networks and service extensions that will transform the way people of Hastings – Lennox and Addington live, move and work.
There is $1.62 billion in shared funding for commuter-friendly projects set aside for the ICIP.
Monte McNaughton, Minister of Infrastructure says the government’s investment will make public transit infrastructure better, safer, and more accessible.
