The removal of portable signs throughout the city of Belleville is a slow process.
Belleville approved a by-law banning portable, off-premise signs earlier this year but Director of Engineering and Development Rod Bovay tells Quinte News there hasn’t been much action so far.
Bovay says there are about 50 portable signs throughout the city.
A reminder letter will go out this week to the sign companies involved.
Bovay says he doesn’t anticipate there will be fines at this stage but the signs could eventually be removed by city staff and put in storage.
