Both of the local Long Term Care facilities will see an increase in recreational programming or personal assistance thanks to this year’s budget.
Administrator Debbie Rollins says the provincial ministry of Long Term Care goal is four hours per day per resident.
Rollins says the extra 15 hours weekly at Hastings Manor will allow some flexibility of programming.
Rollins says there’s also a focus on capital projects such as replacement of residents’ furnishings and improvements to the resident spa rooms.
Centennial Manor in Bancroft received an extra hour a day for a personal support worker, seven days a week.
The Long Term Care budget of $5.5 million represents a 2.1% increase for 2019 for the three partners, Hastings County, Belleville, and Quinte West.
