A 79-year-old woman from Cobourg is facing charges following an incident earlier this week.
Northumberland OPP say they criminally charged Beatrice Bechard on Monday following a traffic stop.
The officer stopped the car being driving by Bechard just before 8:30 p.m. on County Road 22 after he observed the vehicle travelling at inconsistent speeds.
The driver, according to police, falsely identified herself as the owner of vehicle.
She is facing operating a vehicle while prohibited and obstructing a peace officer charges and will appear in court on May 8.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
