Work on building a retirement home near downtown Belleville is about to get underway.
Realtor Jamie Troke tells Quinte News that municipal and construction officials have finalized the locate process (seeing where gas/sewer lines are located) and demolition is set to begin in under a month.
The site in question is on Station Street between Ashley Lane and Dafoe Street and is two acres. It is the site of the former Trudeau Motors.
On it will be a four-storey 140-unit retirement complex.
Troke expects construction to begin this summer.
No final date for the site’s opening has been confirmed, however, he believes it will not be before the fall of 2020.
