The City of Belleville is saying thank you to their transit drivers tomorrow.
March 18 is National Transit Driver Appreciation Day and the city is going to do just that.
People are invited to come to the bus terminal on Pinnacle Street in Belleville’s downtown to say ‘thank you’ to those who serve 345 bus stops and drive thousands of kilometres, all while providing excellent customer service.
Manager of Transit Services Paul Buck says day in and day out, for hours on end, the city’s bus drivers manage to keep a schedule, check fares, give directions and more.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk says the city’s bus drivers are the core of their transit service and while it can be a difficult job, he is thankful for their professionalism and outstanding service.
There will be hot chocolate for passengers as well.
