An estimated $15,000 worth of contraband was seized at Collins Bay Institution.
Correctional Services Canada says around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a drone was discovered, as well as a package containing a smart phone, charging cable, SD card, 68 grams of hashish and 263 grams of tobacco.
The items were found on the perimeter of the medium security unit.
The investigation is ongoing.
The CSC is heightening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
