Neither team would find the back of the net. It was Quinte on a PP just 30 seconds into the third period that would strike first. Richmond Hill would answer back 2 minutes later with one of their own. Quinte would regain the lead at the 13:00 mark but the Coyotes would tie the game up 2 minutes later again but that would be the last goal for the Coyotes. Quinte would find the back of the net 3 more times in the last 7 minutes of play to win the game 5-2 and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Game 2 was in Richmond Hill on Sunday. Quinte started game 2 the same way they finished game 1. The Devils would strike just one minute into the opening period and then add another one minute later. With 4 seconds remaining in the first period Quinte would score again to take 3-0 lead heading into the second. It was all Quinte in the second period as they found the back of the net 2 more times and take a commanding 5-0 lead heading into the final period of the game. The Coyotes were getting frustrated and their game turned to a rougher style of play but Quinte kept their cool and continued to play their game. They would score one more time and take the game 6-0.
